There's no sight more awe-inspiring than that of a mountain range. Be it a snowcapped winter peak, a verdant, flowered-filled range in spring, or a kaleidoscope of colorful trees blanketing the hillsides in fall, it's always a spectacular sight to behold. But, as CanadaCasino recently found out, some mountains are just more beautiful than others.

The entertainment website unveiled its research analyzing Instagram and TikTok hashtag data, showing the most popular and most photographed mountains around the world. It began by creating a seed list of the most famous mountains in the world using online articles as the barometer. Then, it sourced the number of hashtag mentions on each platform, ranking the winners based on which had the most posts across the two. After looking at the data, it named Mount Fuji in Japan as the world's most popular and picturesque mountain.

"Crowned the most picturesque mountain in the world is Mount Fuji, with a combined total of nearly 3.2 million hashtags on social media," the website shared in its findings, which it provided to Travel + Leisure via email. "Japan's tallest mountain, known for its beautiful conical shape, has the most social posts of all, and just under 2.5 million Instagram posts tagged #MtFuji."

Following Mount Fuji is Mount Rainier, the tallest mountain in Washington state. It took the No. 2 slot with more than 1.3 million social media mentions across Instagram and TikTok.

Table Mountain, a peak in South Africa known to be home to plentiful wildlife, took third place with 1.3 million mentions.

The Matterhorn, which straddles Italy and Switzerland, came in at No. 4, with just over 1 million mentions. Rounding out the top five is Denali in Alaska, with 1,024,409 posts overall.

And as the rest of the list shows, you really can find gorgeous peaks all over the world. At No. 6 is Fitz Roy, a mountain shared by Argentina and Chile, followed by another Swiss peak, Eiger, in Switzerland. Rounding out the top 10 is Cotopaxi in Ecuador in eighth; followed by Half Dome, found in California's Yosemite National Park; and Uluru in Australia at No. 10. And in case you were wondering, yes, Everest, the world's tallest peak, did make the list, coming in at lucky No. 13.
